Workers in agricultural fields in Jharkhand, along a pothole-laden road from Ranchi to Jamshedpur. The steel industry, founded in the city of Jamshedpur, reshaped the economy of one of the most rural areas of India, providing employment opportunities and spurring industries that support steel production.
